The New Chancel Organ

The Chancel Organ is built by Halbert Gober, of Elora Canada.   Installation began on February 19, 2008 and the organ was played for worship on Sunday, February 24.

Choral Evensong was sung on the evening of February 24, officiated by Bishop Gulick and Dean Bourlakas.   The organ builder was present and honored at a reception following the Evensong.

The organ's main purpose is to accompany congregation singing, support the choir, and to play service music.   It performs these tasks with ease and plays a a diverse set of organ literature as well.

This instrument is meant to serve the Cathedral community for several years as we continue to grow and discern our direction liturgically and musically.
